ES Gokin Samurai Pizza Cats Yattaro/Speedy Review – Available from HobbyLink Japan
By Cacophanus from Mecha Damashii
Following the unboxing here is the review of the re-release of Yattaro or Speedy Cerviche ES Gokin toy from the classic 90s anime Samurai Pizza Cats.
Like the original design, this is quite a simple toy but executed very well. The extra armor parts for the EX-Topping Form are a bit fiddly but this is a very nice toy indeed
The base figure is handled very well, featuring solid articulation and a decent amount of diecast.
The toy is also very faithful to the original design, so the sculpt and detailing are intentionally simple but refreshingly accurate.
Things get more complex when you add the armor parts for the EX-Topping Form. The parts affix nicely and allow you to hold various poses well. Some of the armor parts are also diecast, which is nice.
The V-fin on head armor is a bit fiddly and can pop-off but it’s fine for the most part when you are playing with the toy.
Overall, this is a very nice rendition of Speedy and is in-line with the solid quality of other ES Gokin releases from Fewture. Fans of Samurai Pizza Cats will definitely love this toy and should pick it up if they can, as it comes recommended.
