    KA Group Build Update:

Finally, I’m done priming the darn thing. All of the fixes came out right, no more gaps, hidden scratches, or obvious bumps.

After much debating and thinking, I finally settled on a color scheme after staring at my shelf for a while and determining which colors I don’t have enough of. I got plenty of whites, blues, grays, and red/pink, and black. But not enough green. The Dynames and RD Zaku represent the color, but it’s inadequate. What did catch my eye is my Transformers Voyager Lugnut. I thought his color scheme will work well with the KA, so that will be it.

Last night, I tested out the color scheme on a plastic plate to see how it will look and I think it works out. If it doesn’t, well, it’s not that hard to strip acrylic…

    • Which color scheme for Lugnut are we talking about? The Animated one or the colors they gave him for his U.S. “Reveal the Shield” release?

Either way, that sounds awesome, and I hope that THE PUNCH gets worked into this build somehow XD

      • Haha, unfortunately, I can only borrow the color scheme from him. I was checking the knuckle parts from the Amazing Booster to see if I can use them, but it wasn’t meant to be.

The U.S. Reveal the Shield colors will be the one I’m using. Has a more realistic feel overall.

    • Good to hear that you finally nailed down a color scheme man. I had to look up Lugnut just to get an idea on the color scheme. And I think it’ll look really good.

      • I’m hoping it turns out well. The purple will serve as highlights so all of the yellow parts on the kit will be replaced with it. Two-tone greens for the armor, then two-tone metallics for the arm joints. I’m not sure yet whether the weapon binders will be colored the same way. I’m in the mood for a darker shade for them.

        • I’m going to have too look that up, I’m being lazy ATM, good to hear you are finnaly decided on a color scheme! You going to do it glossy and showy or going for a flat look so I know what to imagine when I look up lugnut.

          • I’m going all flat for this one, including the metallics. Kinda want to take the lazy approach and not worry about masking or separating the metallics during the final finish coats, haha.

I’ll keep the eyes glossy, though. That’s the only area I never want to give a flat coat to.

          • It would be great if it was covered in soot from lots of explosions XD

            • Are you a mind-reader? I’m actually planning on doing minor weathering on my KA using the Tamiya Weathering Kits, haha.
