Finally got done with the complete submission of my kit. Only took several weeks after the last post I pade here, but I got it done. Here are the pose pics I submitted with the required dimension pics. The last pic I couldn’t attach so it’s exclusive here, haha. Got to say, I had an easy time posing this guy. The waist is a bit loose, but it’s nothing that a bit of Future can fix.

    • Classic Turn A pose? Check. The cow? Check.

Just give this guy a trophy already.

      • Freaking brilliant, man. You deserve first place.

      • I thank you for the compliments, gents 🙂

I had a great time with the kit and it’s one of the very few in my collection that didn’t give me headaches during the photoshoot. I absolutely loved re-creating the second pic above, man. When I first perused the manual and saw the sketch of the pose, I just knew it had to be done and the kit lived up to it.

    • I really want the MG Turn A… preferably before Turn X 😛 . Anything to be wary of when building this guy?

      • Just three things. First, the shin bending mechanism can be a bit finicky so you have to make sure it’s working right before putting the armor on. Second, the chest panels are delicate and it’s easy to snap/bend off the hinges, especially the middle two panels. Third, there are parts on the forearms and thighs that may need some tightening because they separated a bit when I was posing the kit.

Oh, and the torso joint may need to be tightened, but that’s a very minor item. Can’t wait for that Turn X. For sure I’m pre-ordering it, haha.

        • Thanks for that, good luck with your submission :D.

          • And to yours as well. Very anxious to see who gets chosen. Last year’s winners were all deserving of the wins.

            • There are 30 winners this year so it looks like everyone has a good chance of getting in. Either way it’s been awesome to see just how many people are interested in model making as I only know a few people who do war hammer.

              • Yeah, you really get to see how many people build model kits like these. Pretty surprising too how people with a background in miniatures are transitioning just fine.

Speaking of Warhammer, I think there’s someone in the Intermediate category doing a big miniature. Looked like it belonged to the Advanced category, haha.

                • I’ve never really gotten into warhammer because of the large cost involved (says the person who spends all of their spare change on gunpla :P).

                  • Haha, Games Workshop stuff is rather expensive even when compared to purchasing large amounts of gunpla so I share your opinion. However, I actually want to buy a few of their miniatures down the road. Seems like a good challenge and a big break from the usual for me.

    • Oh nice a Turn A. Who would think of this kit? It’s very very clean. I like it

      • Thanks, man. It really is a clean kit, but at the same time, I’m resisting the urge to apply some weathering to it, haha.

        • haha it’s seems to be fine at the stage it is. The turn A is always clean in the anime. haha

          • That’s true. Tomino loves to leave his uber-Gundam as pristine as possible, haha. The art style kinda implies some kind of weathering, especially on certain illustrations.

    • If you got first place, nobody can complain! 😀 Awesome job!
