Hi ryan and syd. I am vincent from indonesia and i am new to gunpla and other Plamo / model kits. i just started building gunpla this september. Yesterday, i just got myself a Nu titanium finish ver KA. The question is, if i apply the water decals to the kit with mark softener and top coat for the finishing touch. Does it affect the titanium coating of the kit itself? Or it will be okay? Thank you, and i hope you guys respond on my question ^^

    • I hardly see them here in this group so I’ll have a try…

What some guys told me at a local hobby shop was you can just throw water slides straight away onto a special finish kit, I can’t comment about mark softer being used but I can suggest that if you want to see how a gloss looks like on a titanium kit, try cutting off the name plate from a sprue/runner (ie the name bar for the A plate) and giving that a shot.

…Infact try putting the bandai water slide decal onto it, trying with mark softer (btw you know mark softer is for curved surfaces right…mark setter is for making decals stick better) and gloss that over and see how it looks!

Only thing is, I’m not sure how the kit will hold up over time, immediate results may look good but no idea if gloss paint or mark products may affect the finish over time…

May I also add, you say you’re new to gunpla but you got a nu gundam ver ka…I’m not sure how new you are BUT do take your time, I had a fair bit of experience with Out of box builds and he was a royal pain, especially with those double sided stickers for the psyco frame!

      Best of luck.
