Another WIP. Yesterday I primed all 9x red pieces of the MG Sinanju and close to finishing them I ran out of primer. QQ Fortunately I had another can of white primer and that worked out okay. I also finished the thrusters with some Model Master’s Graphite Metallic hand paint with some testors red metallic for the inside.
Today I sprayed a few large pieces with the gold and two coats of clear red and I was honestly blown away. Anyway, I’ve got a long long road to paint all of the pieces, but I’ll be super happy to see this all come together after I decal the kit.
I thought red and silver looked wonderful, but this… this is amazing!
Yep! The pictures don’t really do it justice, after the second coat of clear red the pieces look a lot darker (which I really like). Yay 😀
The pictures don’t show the true color? My goodness, that must be one beautiful piece. Wish I could see it in person.
Looks amazing, is this the lacquer based gold you used for the reverse wash, or Tamiya acrylic?
Yep it’s just the lacquer based tamiya Gold. I liked using it because it produced a really smooth gold. I also couldn’t find the acryllic spray tamiya clear red so I had to use the lacquer based clear red as well.
You painted it with the Tamiya Spray gold?
Yeah I know feom airbrushing an eight year old gold leaf, it’s a pain to use, maybe my new jar of it will be better.
