Great to see everybody’s workstations!
OK, here’s a few shots of my setup, which you may have seen bits and pieces of in the Boss Builds shows. The first is of my modeling desk, with a simple cutting mat, a decent light, and drawers full of tools, supplies, and other modeling junk. Right now there’s a wee MiG-21 I’m building for my wee son on the front burner (not to fear, I am still working on the Hulk!).
The second is of my airbrush setup, consisting of a Tamiya Spray-Work painting booth stuffed into a retired kitchen cabinet. Plenty of drawers there for paints and other tools and supplies.
The third is a look at the whole modeling area (with my aforementioned son in the middle holding Guiron), which takes up about a third of my hobby room…the rest (unseen) is display shelves, books, DVDs and Blu-rays, and other stuff. Then of course there’s the closet stuffed with unbuilt kits! I’m very lucky to have a dedicated hobby room…the only compromise is all that stuff has to STAY in that room. No overflow allowed. It’s a compromise I willingly accept!
dude epic, lets see i se guyver 1,predator,alien,and godzillas monsters.
Oh, I do loves me some SF and kaiju! And cars…and tanks…and aircraft…

Just checked it out…very nice indeed!
Gotta see the movie Pacific rim……….and the new Godzilla too.
Oooooh yeah! Sadly, we’re not getting Pacific Rim over here until August 9…sigh.
Well darn…………….I grew up with Space Giants and Godzilla movies so Im super excited…….
Forgot to mention that’s a Tamiya Spray-Work HG Trigger airbrush (0.3mm), and a Tamiya Spray-Work Revo compressor. A simple setup, but it does the job! I’ve been using this combo for about 13 years now.
I love this setup, No room for anything but for what kit your building, just what a work space should be.
i’ve been a Gamera fan myself but all the Kaiju/ Godzilla goodness is awesome.
Yup, I can move the finished stuff out of the way if I need to, but it’s usually one project at a time.. all my brain can handle!
Gamera is right up there with Godzilla for me…the Kaneko trilogy is the apex of kaiju filmdom as far as I’m concerned!
Yeah the Kaneko trilogy was awesome especially as a kid. I recall reading into the detail of the stunning Gamera suit and it apparently included hair somewhere.
Wow, I’ve seen the movies a million times and have seen the actual G2 and G3 suits, but never noticed any hair! A hirsute turtle…who’d have guessed?
Ahh the benefits of living in Japan. seeing the suits would have been fantastic. i’ve been trying to find out where I saw the hair thing with no avil. but still the detail he had really put Godzilla to shame.
Not too long after the release of G3 they had a HUUUGE month-long event at Kyoto Station, and had the suits on display there. I wonder if the “hair” was an attempt to show a bit of moss off the back edge of the shell, like you see in old Japanese paintings. Still never noticed it!
SO MUCH SPACE 🙂
