Beginner Modeler – Modeling Competition 2013. 9 years, 4 months ago I am sure as time goes by, I will be placed in the intermediate category but I will continue to post my updates in beginner. It has been a while since I last updated with some WIP photos but I have finally finished the inner frame on my Char Zaku 2. Sorry the photos are not the greatest but I hope there is enough detail to enjoy. As you can see, I painted up Char a placed him into the cockpit. I used several different layers of drybrush on the inner frame to help give it that metallic look. I did leave a majority of the polycaps alone as they will be hidden in the end anyway. What paints did you use for the inner frame. It looks great!
Thank you! I set down a base coat of Krylon Fusion Satin black, dry brushed with Reaper tarnished steel to get the areas I wanted exposed. Then I drybrushed Reaper scorched steel over the tarnished steel to give it that copperish look. The thruster were picked out and weathered using Reapers gunmetal blue and the pretty areas were picked out in brass. It was a lot of work and I am really happy with the results.
