Are you going for an exact look? Or just inspiration from the films samurai? Instead of spraying smoke black, try using a black wash, it helps give metallics a natural aging look.
Ah i didn’t know what you were going for. I’ve been researching steampunk painting for my iron kong, so i’ve been playing around with stuff like this and for golds/yellow metallics browns make the dull look much more realistic. But again, i don’t know what you’re really doing. XD
Going for a steampunk/ Gundam,/ Samurai mix……Sounds strange when you say it like that 😉 But yea, sort of my re-imagination of a hybrid between the three 😉

Err, actually, on a bronze/brass, a brown wash is the better choice.
It already has black inking on it, but perhaps still a bit shiny….
