I’m not entirely sure, to be honest. I’m using my own compressor as a point of comparison, and the specs are pretty similar (1/6 HP, 1700RPM, though mine is rated for 42L/min while this one’s only for 23L/min)
My concern, I guess, has to do with duty cycle. If you work a compressor too hard, it will overheat and turn itself off until it cools down. I would expect that painting fingernails takes less air than painting a model kit – which may mean that a compressor for painting fingernails would be designed for a lesser duty cycle – which could possibly explain why this compressor has a lower overall displacement rating than mine despite the other specs being pretty similar.
Sorry it’s not very solid information…
Looks good to me. I have a similar compressor and its great. The one you are looking at has a regulator so you can control the psi (amount of air pressure) and it has a tank so you have reserved air – pretty much means that the compressor will eventually turn off, but you can still use it. Sorry if i’m rambling and u know all this already – i recommend using a gravity feed gun (the one with the little well on top of the airbrush).
Thank you so much for your advice 🙂 very much appreciated
