Couldn’t open my window to airbrush today like I planned due to snow so I worked on the base some instead. The ridge is styrofoam glued to the board and the whole thing is on its second layer of a paper-mache product called cellu-clay. Its only drawback is that it takes a while to fully dry (Multiple days) but you can speed it up by putting it in an oven at low temp.

The idea is sort of a mars wasteland to go with the Barbatos and mobile worker. There is going to be a chain link fence with a tekkadan sign up on the ridge.

  My caution with using celluclay is that is can really shrink and crack as it drys. I was never happy with it…

  Yeah the same sometimes happens with the air clay, it shrinks as it dries but I think the cracks have something to do with how wet it is.
