Thanks Robodaz! After reading your well written description about Patlabor I decided to track it down on torrents and have a look at it myself. It never quite caught my attention before in the right way. The MG […]

Once you starch you can never go back. That is also true, in a way. By the by, that Nobunaga guy looks interesting. Nothing moved me the way Gunpla did but this guy has that moving funk.

That cat-ghost thing looks funny. 😀 But meh, to each their own. Boss builds still going? I don’t remember seeing something new from those guys for a long time.

HLJ?! I’ve been looking for the cheapest place myself and though some do offer discounts up to 35% (that and most of their stuff, if not all, is on backorder so waiting for a few months is a pretty common thing) […]

Hi.
HLJ did have a parts shop where you could order a sprue with the part you’d need but as far as I can tell, they gave up on doing so. They do offer new parts for some broken in transport or such but up to 10 […] -

It’s no rocket science. You have the plastic which you cut out and your set of instructions. I mean, if you’re old enough to write and read, and obviously you are, you won’t have any troubles building any kit from […]

Don’t you think 6000 JPY is a bit too much for the 1/144 Kshatriya Repaired too? The Nightingale is a 1/100 and already the size of the suit itself is a lot bulkier than the Kshatriya, not to mention the scale. […]

They do have it in that size! In fact, they have two. 🙂

Both are in 1/144 scale which would match the Neo Zeong and the Sinanju riding it. -

It’s like comparing the looks of a jet plane and a hydro plane and which looks better. It just can’t be done.

I don’t think this is doable. Simply because when you sharpen them, you’d remove the damaged edge and bit by bit you’ll end up with cutters that don’t close all the way. There’s no other way of sharpening them without taking a bit of the edge off. What do you use them for? They should last you a long time if you’re only cutting GunPla, that is if…[Read more]

I STAND TO WIN! Somewhat. I was hyped about The-O until I bought it. It really is a big HG more than an MG kit. A real shame. I might do the one I win in opposite paint theme, black with yellow waterslides. […]

I believe HG line started out as a 1/100 in the first place, some time ago now. But they cut those “in half” building cheaper 1/144 scale HG exclusives. The RE 100 probably refers to the old days when HGs were […]

Thanks anyway. As I’m in no position to buy myself a test stock and just test these varnishes and top coats this kind of heavy research has to be done. I’ve bought myself a bottle of Liquitex gloss, it should be as close to Future, without the yellowing part and I’ll start from there. I’ve watched a review of Alclads high gloss regular lacquer…[Read more]

I have a bit of fear towards lacquer based coats. Don’t get me wrong, I believe their top coats are premium quality however, being a lacquer made me worry of the effect it may have on enamel and/or acrylic paints I may use. I did read somewhere that their top coats are a lot weaker than the normal lacquer paints, not eating through the paint of…[Read more]

Glad you’re back sir! 🙂 Anyway, I tried using Future with a brush, found out that the shine is a bit higher than compared with an airbrushed technique of the same. However, due to having high self-leveling properties and the fact that it’s very, very liquid it tends to follow the gravity too easy and the natural flow of similar liquids which ends…[Read more]

Not sure how it behaves unfortunately, was just a thought since it looks nice as a finish. The only other stuff I had used is Testors gloss spray can, no idea if you can buff that up or not.
