Beginner Modeler – Modeling Competition 2013. 9 years, 4 months ago WIP 2 of my RX-78-2 ver 3.0.
I finished spraying gunmetal on the runners of the inner frame parts. I also manage to finish half of the body. A bit slow on my side because of work but it’s looking good so far. I hope I can finish the whole body and both arms by this weekend. Cheers guys!!

Looking good there. That Gunmetal does wonders to the inner frame.
Did you have to do touch-ups on any of the frame parts? The reason I ask is because it’s kinda risky painting when the parts are still on the runners.
Thanks! Well, the only risk is I will have numb marks after I remove the parts from the runners. But I think by spraying the parts while still on the runners, it saves time and it is also easier. So you’re right that I need to do some touch-ups later on to cover the numb marks. But I expect it will be minimum as most of the inner frames will be covered by the armors. I don’t plan to paint the armors anyhow. I do want to spray the finished kit with clear flat top coat. But that will be the last step assuming everything works fine. 😀
Nice! I don’t think nub marks will be too much of a problem.
Thanks! For those marks that exposed and not covered by armors, I decided to respray but only on the side with the marks. So not a complete repsray.
