Dear HLJ staff, Ryan and Syd, what would you say if I’d ask you about a BUY & SELL group on our little blog? MAYBE it would be a good idea. Using Paypal our fellow modelers could sell their old kits, tools and paint within the community or buy the same from the rest. I’m not sure if that would be ok with HLJ business politics and if it would ben…[Read more]

I got hooked on the oldies NG. Specifically Victory series suits. Here’s my third to date, still work in progress. Not the Victory itself but a Gun Blastor.
But a decent amount of work is needed. Most of them are molded in two colours + polycaps in more or less big parts that need to have more than one colour on it. And 1/144 make this thing more challenging. It’s like I have a fair amount of kits on a pile, leaving these old kits for last just because I don’t feel like fiddling with them right away,…[Read more]
Yeah, been there and done that. 🙂 And I’m a perfectionist, too, so I generally can’t leave well enough alone. I’ve finished a few ’80s kits, though, mostly unmodified. Good times – and any time I need a good laugh I need look no further than my 1:100 Zaku… 🙂
I just recently got the 1:144 Gundam GP01 – it’s an awkward-looking kit but it’s…[Read more]
I’m actually tempted to get the original first Gundam kit that they have in stock at the moment at HLJ. Not sure of the scale but I think it’s a 1/100 kit. Costs some 750-800 yen. I’m preordering a 3.0 so it would be a nice contrast building these two. The more I talk about it the more it seems like a great idea actualy. Might do that for real. xD
Bandai’s reissuing almost the entire original Gundam kit line in August to coincide with the release of the MG v3.0… The 1:100 Gundam is kind of weird because of how they handled the core fighter (the core fighter on that kit sticks out the bottom of the belly) but it does have its charm…
But if you want to buy 1:100 scale kits from the…[Read more]
Hmm NG kits. I pre-ordered 1988 1/144 Zeta Plus and Full Armor ZZ. From the reviews they definitely needs lots of sanding to get rid of the rounded edges, and sanding is my worse skill…
Joints are ok mostly. Hip joint not so much. Even painted it’s still loose a bit. But other jounts from this line are fine. Not sure about the ZZ and Zeta lines though but given the scale is the same you should be ok.
Is it just me or does anyone else have issues about the “activity feed” rinning in circles when clicked the “Load More” button? Sometimes it keeps loading up the same stuff repeatedly over and over. Also, this being a growing community, that “activity feed” will be a bit more confusing because a lot of stuff will be posted all the time and not…[Read more]
haha, cup noodles for real 🙂
