Often the suggestion is to dilute to a milk-like consistency. This is a rough guide and some paints work better thinner, and some are just fine relatively thick. Future Finish is thicker than milk but sprays fine. Tamiya acrylics spray ok neat, but also work fine diluted 50:50 with thinner. The Createx acrylics can work fine as-is, or with a similar dilution to the Tamiya. The Alclad paints are pre-thinned and are somewhat runnier than milk.
So I don’t need to delute future
Nope. Or at least I’ve never needed to.
Do u mix it in paints or just top coat
I’ve done both, but mostly just topcoat.
I’m going to run some test shots thanks GN
I prefer to use future as a thinner in my paints,, but no you’ll never need to dilute future, personally my favorate use is custom trasnparent paints
How do u use it as a thinner?I’m using acrylic paints and want a gloss coat ready for water slides. Also intested in how u make trasnparent paints
I also use acrylics. now before i say, Tamiya because of it’s solvent base is hit n miss on mixing with future.
generally, i just use it vs water or other thinnig agents. it helps makes the paint a little tuffer.
far as trasnparency, think of it as thinning in reverse, I actually discovered it by accident. I slipped and over poured in future. now i start with future and a dropper of opaque art acrylic and just keep adding paint till i get a deep color to the future.
I always test the mix to make sure it works. it’s not perfect as every mix is pretty much an experiment for me still.
I’m using vallejo model color thanks for tips. One more pondering will paint thinned with future be glossy enough for water decals?
then your fine, just use the usual 1:2 thin:paint ratio.
far as the finish, depends If your base paint if matte fin you’ll get a semi gloss to matte finish. the future typically ceeds to the paint far as finish, It just increases it’s “toughness” making it that much harder to scratch.
Awesome u were a lot of help thanks
hey. no problem. if you need more just send me a message
