A group for the unfortunate among us who live on a set of islands where the sun rarely shines, but have excellent fish n chips. There isn’t a big presence of Gundam in the UK, so let’s share what we know and try to drum up some interest. Post pictures of what you’re working on, share news of suppliers that you use, and post information of related events and happenings in the UK.
I bought a 400ml spray can of Rustoleum Crystal Clear Matt from Amazon for £6.49. I chose the free shipping option, it arrived after 4 days.
I wanted to give my HGUC RX-78-2 a matt finish. I decided to stand my gunpla on a plastic shopping bag to protect the window ledge. After I gave the model a couple of coats and let it rest I found that…[Read more]
Hi G MMMMMMM what to do. As with the Nu I wanted to keep that as close as possible to the colour of the runners and that worked out ok I think?
So as they say if it a’nt broke don’t fix it! Stick to the same formula and it should be ok (I hope) I’ll do a vid of the colour selection for the kit in the next few days.
Thanks for the comments 🙂
Hi guys, has anyone ordered the SAZABI yet?
Well I have and I think it stands a chance of being the first to hit these sure’s.
Should be hear on Monday so fingers X I’ll have a unboxing vid on YouTube on Tuesday.
They generally get to me as quick (and usually quicker) than FedEx say it will take. Sometimes when you ship an order it goes out the same day, sometimes if HLJ it takes a day or two for the shipment to get out the door. Basically they seem to try to get parcels to you as quickly as possible.
It was very hard to resist… and I didn’t 🙂 The biggest issue with the HLJ sale was knowing when to stop lol @richigobankai really!? What sort of items were you looking for?
Safe to say i have got the gunpla bug back again, the only trouble with ordering kits in the uk is you loose track of what you have ordered as they can take a long time to get here. Now they are starting to arrive and im spoilt for choice. I also tend to buy bargains as and when they show up from uk sellers on ebay ( funds permitting) as you never…[Read more]
mandarake is a chain of stores in japan that sells, amongst other things, gunpla. You can get some amazing deals if you check regularly enough (I got a 6000 yen PG rx78-2) the down side is that the things they put on the website are also available in store, so if you order something, someone could just walk into the store and buy it before your…[Read more]
I’ve skimmed through mandrake before but never bought anything from there. Right enough some of the deals on there are pretty top notch by the look of it!
Nice collection you have there 🙂 i started the zaku next as its another old kit and i havent built a zaku yet. Lost my temper with the silly bead / spring bits a few times as they keep coming out , especially on the head. He is all together now and i am amazed by the lack of articulation despite the fact its an old ver 1.0 , he can hardly move…[Read more]
@richigobankai, i have a couple of questions about your MG Infinite Justice, first of all did you use waterslide decals? and on the chest section did you lose the small clear camera lens parts in the chest section? because that happened to me, ive just started building mine and one of them popped off the runner when i was cutting it out and its lost:(
yup, lost one of those clear bits just like you :/
I wish I’d waited and bought waterslides from samueldecal, but I was impatient and used stickers and dry rub transfers instead 🙁
The days of $70 MG v1.0 kits? Eh, there were some good things about it but mostly the terrible prices negated the advantages.
Now the sale on amazon.com toward the end of that period, on the other hand… that was legendary. 🙂 $20 PGs, $10 MGs, it was good times.
The only time i have seen gundam in toysrus was when i bought my original gundam/zoids kits some 20 years ago on a trip to Hong Kong. Real shame they arent available anywhere in the uk except for people that charge a small fortune for the kits. Its understandable that they doas to make any money you need to get back the price of the kit , the…[Read more]
