I have a bit of fear towards lacquer based coats. Don’t get me wrong, I believe their top coats are premium quality however, being a lacquer made me worry of the effect it may have on enamel and/or acrylic paints I may use. I did read somewhere that their top coats are a lot weaker than the normal lacquer paints, not eating through the paint of other kinds if you’re careful with the application however I haven’t dared to use the stuff yet. With the Future going yellow on me in more than two coats, while trying to get the most gloss effect out of it, I was looking for something that could replace it, or should I say, be an upgrade over it. It has to be something buffable too to get the most shine out of it. If Alclad ticks all of the above I’d gladly give it a try, regardless of the smell and toxicity of lacquer paints.
