Where should I start with RG kits? I’ve got the Zeta, but it’s pretty far down the backlog. I’m thinking of picking up the Char Zaku as well, but I’m not sure if I should work on an “easier” RG to get a better feel for it first.

You could try Gundam MkII (AUEG or Titans), Strike Gundam, I find these are pretty easy to build. The Zaku IIs is brilliant, you should get that too if you are a Zaku fan 🙂

Most of them are like building a MG but at a smaller scale, it shouldn’t be much of a problem for those who have small hands : P

All the RG’s I’ve tried so far have been excellent.I’d recommend Justice.

I already build the Justice, Full Burnern, Chars Zaku, Skygrasper and the RX-78-2..still got Zephyrantes, Strike Freedom, Zaku II, Aile Strike and the Zeta..I would recommend the Chars Zaku and the RX78-2..maybe the grand daddy is a bit flimsy on the shoulder but its pretty solid

    • I will say though that in my experience with the Zaku II, the legs/feet are kind of unstable. And those beads are a pain. Probably go with the RX78 or Mk II as your first RG.

    • Strike, any of RX-178 or any of GP-01b. I am not sure if they are the most easy ones (whole RG line-up is pretty much of the same complexity except Zeta – this one’s tougher ), but they are definitely the most solid builds.
