    Fuck… 😐

    • what sup?

      • It’s the competition. Some divine work there. Some of the entries look as if done by a group of people with unlimited resources and skill… I’ve just learned today that my skill level was roughly a quarter of what I thought it was. Which leaves me a lot of space to improve and get better.

        • Do you really think that entries are made by a group of people? That should be against the rules!
You’re a lot better than you give yourself credit for. I think you’ve done a great job with The O. Have you entered it?

          • Not yet. I’m having my photos resized as we speak and they’ll be entered soon. In an hour or so. The reason I’ve said that some of them look like something made by a group rather than by an indivual is the fact that when looking at those kits Modelers-G comes to mind. Here’s a preview of their work. I don’t think a “group build” is a no-no per se it just doesn’t leave much space for individuals. In the end, entry will be submited by an individual and that’s all that matters.
The good thing about all of this is that I’ve set my mark a bit too low in expectations of what a pro is and watching some YT videos of Vegeta numbernumer made me realize that his work isn’t even on the same level as some that I’ve seen entered in this competition in intermediate. It isn’t even on the level below, but on the next one around.

            • I’ve put every one of my modeling skills into my contest entry and that’s all that matters. I think if you just entering a contest to win rather than have fun you’ve missed the point and your victory will be hollow.
It doesn’t matter what group you’re in, Syd and Ryan will be the judge of what category it’ll go in. My Leopard’s final top is drying now, I can’t wait to see it!!
What I love about Vegeta numbernumer (lol) is that he’s trys new things. There are Gunpla YT bloggers who just do the same thing over and over, at least Vegeta is trying to get better. I respect that and that’s why he’s my role model.

              • Don’t get me wrong, he can’t get much better than he is right now. On his own that is. His work might be better if he could have unlimited resources like Modelers-G guys have with every vernier, booster, pipe, spike and whatnot switched with the aluminium/chrome steel one with LEDs all over the place and custom parts from a 1001 kit in some crazy kit bash thing going on, not to mention a team of people working together. But then it isn’t a hobby anymore as much as a job. To tell you the truth, he is one of the best, if not the best youtuber out there in what he does and the way he does it. However I don’t understand an army of fans that do nothing but idolize him without even a trace of wish to try something like he does or any technique he so willingly shows to the public. There are a lot of fans out there praising him like he’s a god not knowing that, with work and effort, training even if you will, everyone can do it. Compared to more “rural” areas of the world where there are no hobby shops that sell the stuff we need, USA is pretty good when it comes to hobby supplies. Not even close to Japan but compared to, say, my country, it’s light years appart. So I’d say, naturally, visible progress is more obvious and develops faster in those areas that offer more substance for the model building hobby. All one has to do is put some time and effort into it.
Still, Henry (was it?) is, by my standards at least, waaaay better than rrobbert numbernumber “two Rs, two Bs and an ass between the ears”. Though rrobbert numbernumber does give extensive info on a lot of subjects and his videos aren’t made up out of 15 parts with 12 parts for articulation of the head itself he still offers more or less pure, core model builder a taste of GunPla. And that’s ok. I’d call it mainstream to some extent but given how this hobby is treated it wouldn’t be right as we’re all still way, way back out there on the “normal list” for some people.
                I’ve talked too much again…

                • Bottom line guys, I’d say, to each his (or her as a matter of fact) own as we all see and view this thing from a different angle most of the time. And whatever happens, we almost everything learn something new out of other people’s examples. Model building especially.
