SO I started my first Macross kit a few weeks ago. Roy Fokker’s Valkryie by Bandai. Gotta say the build has been great fun so far. I seemed to be a bit lazy with my Photos. the kit had me tackle figure painting.which I think I did an alright job on. the ony down side ive found so far has been the decals. while the number doesnt phase me after ive done a few Ver ka kits but the decals over ridges really don’t stay on well and the back wings require you to fold the waterslide, to which I say no to and I wish I painted them instead. so I’m going paint what I can after I post this. But overall a really interesting kit, definitely motivates me to watch the show. of course I still have a few weapons to go (form the extra pack).

    • I also broke a potion of one the rear wings when I was panel lining I fixed it (sort of) with glue but I thought I would give a heads up to everyone else.

    • I had to bend a water slide decal on Kotobukiya’s ZOE Vic Viper. I had no problems doing this knowing that I always found their decals to be a bit more fragile than Bandai’s. For instance I broke the big 47 decal going on the nozzle/cockpit while trying to make it penetrate a big and wide liner. Hopefully I managed to find the exact same color by mixing paints and fix it.
That served me as a lesson and even if it’s been years I’m using water decals on all my kits when I can I finally ordered some Mr Mark Setter and Mr Mark Softer bottles.

      • I fortunately do have some Taymia mark Fitter (which should be softer) my local hobby shop hasn’t stocked the other sadly.. .The difficulty I found placing some of the watersides were on the legs and rear (vertical (pardon my lack of lingo)) wings. The wings had a sharp angle and the legs had you place a long decal over a flat surface and then make it go over a ridge shaped like a screw top.
