    UPDATE #3

    Thus far it seems to be coming along nicely. On the other hand I might have chosen my colors wrong. Used what I had in the box at the time. Should have gone with a lighter green for all the white parts.

      Well the deep green is a fairly military look, so it may not be such a bad choice. Also you could lighten it up by applying filters – even putting a dull coat on top may lighten it a bit.
