So I think I’ve hit a bit of a rut with the Tieren… I wanted to make it a bit more interesting, so I decided to do some camo on the leg shield, only it failed miserably, (using masking tape was a bad idea) and I’ve stripped back the paint and re-primed it now. Does anyone have any tips for doing good camo patterns? I think I might have to give up on that idea, and just focus on getting the damage and weathering looking as good as I can. I have some decals too, which will hopefully look pretty good.
What was going wrong with the masking tape?
Silly putty is actually a pretty good, pretty simple method for applying traditional (i.e. not digital) forms of camo, so you might try that.
It was just really messy,. It seemed like the paint was seeping through and there was like a residue or somethjng under it, it looked terrible. Come to think of it, it might have been because I was trying to paint a light colour over the top of a dark colour. I might re-do it going light to dark, I haven’t had issues with masking tape before.
