Hi. This is my first time to join a contest, and will be happy to join. This is my first time to build using proper tools (I had been snapbuilding gunpla kits as my collection a few years back using only a nipper and a hobby knife), not to mention the first time airbrushing a whole kit (did some tests and practice before), and (proper) decal application. My first (and probably only) entry is my 1:72 VF-25F Pro-Shop version with (separate) Ranka deculture decals taken from eBay. Will soak the non-clear parts in degreaser for pre-assembly (heard that it will help paint stick to it) later.

  Might want to try the degreaser on some of the clear runner before you throw the whole kit in. It’s pretty common to use degreaser on plastic kits to remove chrome or paint or just manufacturing residues, and I expect it’d be fine to do this with clear parts, too, but I’ve never tried it. Wouldn’t want those parts to fog up or something.

    I actually have a test clear part soaked in degreaser for a month now and it still looks the same.

      Cool. Yeah, I don’t really expect there would be a problem. Still I might make sure it’s still OK after taking it out for a while.
