For this update on my MG Sandrock, I’ll cover the parts I’ve painted with the pale gold/bronze color.
A few of the other colored parts also require touches of this color, so I masked them with some blutac.
The color is a mix of Testors brand Bright Gold, Copper, and Chrome Silver.
I really, REALLY love how this color turned out! I was a little concerned that it would clash too much with the other colors, but I think it blends pretty well, actually.
I applied it using thin light coats, and so it has a nice matte glow and a rougher looking texture, as opposed to a super smooth glossy shine.
Next update, I’ll show the results of all that masking, and maybe a picture of some colors side by side to give an impression of how they all work together.
After that, I’ll have to handle some final seam line removal & painting, topcoat everything, and then I’ll give the kit some other (finishing?) touches.
