Sad times, the necessary evil of UK import duty and ridiculous handling charges. And flamin Parcel Force are the worst, arrgh!!!!!!
You should have some guys get together and purchase in one shipment or something.
In theory a very good idea, but in practice I should imagine a logistical nightmare! From what I gather group the Gunpla UK group we live hundreds of miles away from one another, the internal mail/ petrol cost woyld outstrip any saving sadly.
I decided to bite the bullet and save my purchases up and Fed-Ex, import limit is £
Oops £16, approx ¥2400, so even getting an RG is dicey. And the buggers have been hitting me for everything!!!
You have a limit on import? Whaaat?
Soz left out the important “import duty free” part. They pretty much check everything now as well, and it’s the handling charges that Bite. Royal Mail (SAL)is £8, Fed-Ex £10.50 and Parcel Force (EMS) is a ridiculous £13.50!

That’s pretty much better than my situation here. There’s 10% tariff, 12% Value added tax that includes shipping in its calculation, they also add another insurance in there out of nowhere (1.6 bucks), then documentation fees (6 bucks), some Import Processing total bull fee(another 6 bucks), and for a finale an almost buck quarter for postage. I have to buy with other people or some middle man from now on I reckon.
And I thought our import was bad!! At least we’re not paying the Japanese tax as well on hlj.
Yep parcelforce is biggest scam along with ups who actualy ask on the doorstep for cash or cheque.parcelforce dont even deliver my address as they are lazy ass’ s and leave at post office for pickup.allowance I think is £17 but they are sly as you can buy a £10 item and they add the postage ontop to make the value up.
That said I bought plenty of stuff from overseas and I never got charged.
I bought a resin iron mk42 from china and got yesterday via royalmail.i bought the dragon iron patriot from here at hlj and got that standard sal courier option and royalmail delivered it gratis free.
