Finally got all of the limbs done on the Turn A and started on the upper torso last night. I may end up painting the red pieces due to how the nub marks gave that white look that’s hard to get rid of. Hopefully the blue parts are easier.

I have to say, that nail buffing stick works wonders in restoring the shine after sanding away nubs, especially on bright parts and grey parts. I think I need to buy a couple more. I’m not painting the white parts so it helps immensely in keeping the plastic looking “natural”.

    • That is a good idea, never thought of using one to buff the nub marks. I may have to grab one to give it a try.

      • I was surprised how well it worked. If I use all three pads on that stick (one after the other), the resulting shine is better than the original plastic.

Just note that it’s only good for returning or bringing the shine onto a surface. Standard sandpaper and files/hobby knives are still ideal for general removal of nubs.

        • Just put in an order on amazon for a 4 sided block to give it a try. Thanks again for the tip, been trying to find ways to fix that myself. At this point the only thing i have found is to do a little touch up with a Gundam marker, but even that is a little off. So this would fix that for the most part.

          • You’re welcome. I hope it works out well for you too. I’ve tried touch-ups on OOB builds before and it really isn’t the same. Closest I’ve ever gotten (based off of red and blue parts) is having a tiny bit of white from the nub mark left. So tiny that not even rubbing the area with a fingernail could remove it.

Those red and blue parts…such stubborn pieces of plastic.
