Did one of several mods to my HG Z’Gok last night. Basically all I did was drill a hole into the piece that the monoeye would be at (well, maybe drill is not the right word) with my hobby knife, making it just big enough to fit a piece of pink runner into it. I will be getting a clear LED, as well as a watch battery holder for it. In the mean time, enjoy the picture of a pink monoeye lighting up with a flash light.
Nice one, good to see more builds with leds.
I really want to add a LED to either the kit I am entering here or a future kit. I’ve never done it before, any good resources or tips?
Well, bear in mind that LEDs do have voltage limitations. Most of the time, they can vary from 1.5 to 2.2 volts. Some batteries can go as little from 1.5 to 6 volts. You NEVER want to attach a 9v for low voltage because the thing will pop. I’m no real expert (I’ve dabbled with electronic assembly) but there are some resources out there for this type of application. I believe there are also several youtube videos that go into it. Just gotta look.
Cheers bro….
