That is some insane detailing, my friend! Just curious, why silver and gold instead of flatter colors? Fancy them more? 🙂
Well its very simple the armour fits better with a gloss coat as a matt coat grips it and the gloss allows it to slide into place plus I think its gonna have a better contrast at the exposed joints next to what will be armour top coated with satin varnish.
Ah, so that’s how it works. Great tip – I might just have to borrow it for my project if you don’t mind. x)
Go for it mate do you think I come up with all the techniques for this all by myself…NO you ask questions you practise and you learn and pass that knowledge that you my tweak on to others. This is what I love about this we only get better.

Depends on what you’re using for painting. If you’re airbrushing it doesn’t matter. Layers are usually so thin you wouldn’t feel the difference.

Mate this is awesome!!! I really think that you’ve got a serious talent… I reckon this could even be in the advanced catagorie!
Wow well thanks very, much but as this is only my second gundam project I think I’m fine where I am. I don’t think I would stand a chance in hell at competing at a higher level. Scratch building and diorama making is defiantly not my thing.
So all I can offer is a ok paint job for my entry that’s the limit of my skills.

Didn’t you show your WIPs for this kit here and on YT before the contest was announced? You should probably check with the organizers about the eligibility of entering this build.
Not really as that was a demo of me having a go at fitting the metal parts to a kit. It would be relevant to anyone wishing to fit these type of parts to their gundam project. Plus I’ve messaged Ryan for some clarification on the subject.
If Ryan said ok then all is good. Last thing you want is to have your entry forfeited at the last minute with no time to start a new one.
