Intermediate Modeler – Modeling Competition 2017 5 years, 11 months ago Dunno if I’ll finish in time, since the painting and decaling will be most consuming process on this build. But I’ll try to push on.
Here’s the cockpit finished, it was painted with the correct tone of blue-gray from the Akan brand of acrylic paints. The rest of the colors are from Tamiya.
And before closing up the fuselage I had to address the tailboom now before gluing both halves so the stinger and other parts don’t get in the way. The kit’s is too thick and brunt, while the real deal has sharp edges.
Activity
You painted the resin cockpit better than I did. You could finish the contest build in time if you aren’t too nitpicking. Don’t worry about the shape or form of the kit. Do the best paint job, which to the average modeler might be the most important, but not to the experienced modeler. The gloss coat before decals takes a week for me. Maybe a few days for you. Then flat or semi gloss afterwards.
I think your build should be advanced.
