    Be seated.

I’ve been working to upgrade the cockpit of my Zero where I can. In this case – the seat:

    • How do you make seat belts?

      PE

    • That’s right, these are photo-etch. You can find sets of these for different scales/ time periods/ countries/ even army or navy. I prefer the ones that are made from brass more because they are easy to bend for a more natural look. Also there are paper ones that can be found sometimes.

Remember – safety belts save lives! 😀

    • Thanks I will go look for them, cos I am doing the Bandai, Star Wars 1/48 Snowspeeder, and am looking to add some details like seat belts in the seats.

I’m not a huge fan of Eduard’s new line of PE’s called self-adhersive which is a mess, IMO, cuz you’d still have to cut and sand every part. It sticks to tweezers & pliers. But sometimes there’s no alternative available.

There’s another kind of PE from China that’s ultra thin. Thinner than paper. Like for a warship. Way too easy to break. This is not the best IMO.

The best is Eduard’s regular pre-colored PE for the cockpit. That’s it. Glue with CA. The exterior sets are overkill.

Your best bet is to buy a generic 1/48 seatbelt PE sets cuz I don’t think there’s any Star Wars PE sets. Not popular enough. Most of the PEs are made for aircraft, tanks, vessels & cars.

You could detail the Snowspeeder with putty, tack-on (blue), masking tape as seatbelts, solder iron & electric wires.
