My package and kit artives today, but in the meantime this weekend I have been working on other parts for my entry. First I picked up a cheap pinewood base to use for my diorama. I sanded it down to remove the roughness of the surface and edges, then gave it two coats of stain. Tonight I’ll coat it with some satin varnish and it will be ready to start building on top of.

I have also started scratchbuilding a little mobile worker truck. I tried to build one of these last year but burned out halfway through. There were some parts I wasn’t satisfied with so I decided to start over. Instead of building a ladder for the back from scratch I decided to use part of a fire escape from a N scale building. I also have a little toolbox and jug to go in the bed from a 15mm tank kit.
