Hi, Everyone!
I’m new to the hobby. My latest finished model is Ma.K SUFA Fireball and it’s fourth model I ever made. Currently I’m woking on Falke ship. But I’m not only on Maschinen Krieger – love gunpla and sci-fi too 😉
Thanks Ryan 🙂
I tried different methods before actual work. Finally I created masks on my computer (in Inkspace, free vector app) and then cut them on plotter. I used Oramask to do it, because everyone recommends it. You need a lot of patience and attention but I think it was worth it.
I tried to do this as fast as possible to not to keep the mask on a model too long. But it took me three whole evenings. Around 4 hours for every masking – there were 3 colours to mask – white (underneath the ship) and two greys. First was the toughest, because I needed to create straight body line on a side. Of course there were some difficulties with cylindrical body of a vessel that’s why it took so long.
So I would say like 10 hours of masking and 3-4 of painting.

That digital effect on the ship is excellent, how did you achieve it?
Thanks Ryan 🙂

How long did it take to get the masking done and painted?
