Airbrush and Gunpla! 7 years, 10 months ago Hi guys. Just to be sure, you can’t put acrylic over enamel right? I have Mr Hobby Top coat gloss and an enamel chrom paint bottle. Despite the fact that the top coat is acrylic based, could I use it to coat my enamel chrome coat?

Yes, you can put an acrylic on top of an enamel. The enamel paint is the stronger of the two. But to make it a bit more confusing, you can even put an enamel on top of an acrylic. As long as the acrylic has been fully cured.
