As with many feats of engineering, the principle behind it is pretty simple:
They inject plastic for half the parts, then they put those parts into another tooling and inject another kind of plastic around that first set of parts.
they have little magical gremlins that make them for us. they don’t get paid much, but they don’t mind as they all get high from the plastic fumes ;p

I’ve wondered this as well! Would love to find a doco on bandai and how they do this exactly….have so far been unsuccessful.
