Hi everyone. Spent what little time I had today to build the Banshee head. I sharpened the V fins and coloured them gold using a marker. I coloured the the inner frame bronze too. I’m not really satisfied with the results though.

    • Does anyone know how to remove oil based markers? I think I’d rather paint this then continue with markers.

      • Try turpenoid. It’s a LOT safer than turpentine and a muuuuch weaker dissolver. Put a little bit on a paper towel and start (gently) rubbing it (in one direction) on the painted surface. The quicker you do it the better too. Don’t want that oil marker to dry too fast. From my experience it hasn’t weakened the plastic part at all because I use the turpenoid very sparingly and don’t leave any on the piece. Dry thoroughly.

      • I would actually suggest that you buy Simple Green instead. Chemically, it doesn’t disrupt the double bonds of polystyrene and ABS like other reagents would. This means that you can have your oil-covered piece of plastic on it for days and the plastic won’t get eaten up.

If you’re not using it for plastic, Simple Green’s great for cleaning kitchen appliances by the way. 😛

        • This sounds like the safest option. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

          • Yup, no problem. You’ll have to scrub the plastic with a toothbrush or something to take the enamel off, depending on how thick you’ve painted it on.

    • Which grade is this one? I’m trying to find the Unicorn Gundam Banshee Ver. Ka. Final Battle edition. I know they they’re re-stocking those and couldn’t find them at a convention I was at.
