Lads and lassies, I’ve been amassing a heap of items to start of airbrushing and I’m currently on the topic of paints. I’ve opted to go for a supply of Tamiya acrylics X and XF and have just selected a bunch of primary colors in flat and gloss, along with some clear colors and clear coats. The list has a mix of around 30 odd colors but do you recommend any colors that I should have before I go overboard on paint? Most of the kits I have coming are RG series GP01s, Zeta, Destiny.
Numbers 1-10 should be a good start+ another shade of green and blue for contrasts
Cheers! I’ll make sure I have the 1-10 covered then in the list. Would love if there was a simple starter kit to make this easier 😀
Some of the transparent colors may be helpful as well.
They have a red listed but to me it looks pink!? Does it actually come out red?
yeah, also handy for covering up nub marks on red metallic kits, and it you wanted to paint a kit metallic red. I have used it a few times in the past for tail lights on a few model cars and bikes I had built.
Excellent! I have some brake lights on an Aoshima Megazone 23 Garland model so that will come in handy there too! 😉
X-27 is the Tamiya color for clear red, just to make sure you are getting the right one (sorry I wasn’t quicker getting back to you about that, just got home).
