sounds very cool – I’m interested to see that color scheme. I see a lot of models especially VerKa that have a million decals – not sure that I’m a fan. I’m going to do at least one that way but I really don’t see the reason to have quite so many. I think a few decals, especially well places decals, can add to it. Each decal I do seems to take…[Read more]
It’s looking good – are you planning on painting?. And is it going to be fresh-off-the-line or weathered?
Are you in a position to scribe some extra lines on the more plainish of the panels – if weathered they should look good even without more lines – if freshly painted look they might look a bit monochromatic and flat. You can still put very…[Read more]
well after this I am going to build a high grade out of the box – painted of course – but nice and new like off he assembly line. No weathering etc…like a one/two weekend build…
oh and really advanced would be a small sheen of sweat in places.. maybe a small amount of gloss mixed and blended in certain areas. And a removable towel of course….
really really good.
Maybe a bit more definition in the body of the figure. For instance the inside of the elbows could use a small bit of shading to bring it out. Typically it’s two small vertical lines where the bicep inserts into the elbow area. The back could use a bit more shading. Boots and pant bottoms look a little clean for desert…[Read more]
very nice – masking around windows was always my challenge. I may do a plane model this year – thinking of combo of liquid mask and tape. I wish these kits included two canopies in case one screwed up the first …
I know really advanced modelers used to use a vacuum forming machine with clear plastic to model these – but I don’t seem to see that…[Read more]
Great job – one thing that helps me with stickers is micro-set and micro-sol. It helps blend them in really well – but admittedly makes it all that more fiddly.
If you are able to switch to an airbrush in the future you will get a lot more primer for your money – but you have the $100 to $200 for the airbrush set up…
The eyes really sell it. And you caught the expression well. One eye brow is a little longer but they don’t need to be exactly the same…
Folds on the towel are also great.
My extremely messy area.. I swear I’m going to clean it up. I just get so consumed when I’m building a kit. Some of my backlog shown as well – I’m betting those Ver Ka will take me 6 months. Also I have another 6 or so kits not shown, even one RG.
I think I’m set for kit building until 2020.
well after this I am going to build a high grade out of the box – painted of course – but nice and new like off he assembly line. No weathering etc…like a one/two weekend build…
That’s my usual speed as well. 2 weeks tops for most kits. PE + resin included. Once in a while I build a snap-fit and paint it a little bit differently.
raspberry Pi is cool to work with – arduino is also very easy much cheaper and they are much smaller form factor…unless you need video I”m curious why to choose the Pi?
Ok, I’m thinking to call it done. I may be able to get my diorama done by the deadline…
I had put the decals on the shoulders up-side-down so had to fix those. Got all the…
