Gundam Wing fans probably could answer this, but why didn’t they call Proto Zero, “Wing Gundam Zero Anime Version?” Is it because Endless Waltz sells more? Or is it because it’s a redesign by Katoki and since Katoki designed all of mobile suits in Endless Waltz, they just decided to call it EW Version? Or is it both?

    • Well, first off, Endless Waltz was also an anime… So all the Endless Waltz versions are “anime versions” as much as thte TV series designs are.
Second, they’re selling four different “Wing Gundams” now (two Wing Gundams, and two Wing Gundam Zeros). The other MG Wing Zero is just called “MG Wing Gundam Zero”, not “Wing Zero Custom” or “Wing Zero EW”, so I think they wanted the new kit to be named more distinctively.
All the focus of the MG Wing series (apart from MG Wing Gundam) has been on Endless Waltz and its spinoff manga – the Proto Zero (ugh) was featured in the manga – that’s why it’s an “Endless Waltz” version.
