Funny thing is this actually happened to me last year. I had a girl flying in from the east coast to see me when I was in California. I never told her about my models. so when we got to my apartment (I have a book case with all my kits on it) she looks at it and looks at me with a slight grin and says “you don’t have many girls over do you?” I responded “I got you here didn’t I?” she laughed and started looking at the different kits and that was that. I would say it’s really how you own your hobby I guess because most girls don’t seem to care that have seen them.
