Pokemon Plamo Gengar Unboxing

Pokemon Plamo Collection No.45 Select Series Gengar

The new Gengar model kit just came in, and it arrives as part of the new style of Pokemon kits that’s bringing change to the series. Gengar has never been featured as part of a kit before, so entering the line with a standalone release is a pretty nice treat.

Here we see two eye sticker options and three mouth build options! Though it’s definitely not a very complex kit or remarkable set of options, Pokemon kits don’t tend to have build options at all. So being able to choose your favorite version, or change the model around as you like, marks a great new step towards the improvement of Pokemon kits!

On the side, we get a look at the color-separated runners, manual, and sticker sheet! More on those below.

The manual and the stickers.

I want to talk about the stickers for a moment. To me, it looks like you could complete this kit with just the two black pupil stickers. Certainly, the other eye stickers are included so that you don’t have to try to line the pupils up neatly yourself, but the eyes are already molded in red plastic. So the full eye options are great for kids! But if you’re an adult, you’ll probably be fine with just the pupils.

Now, the feet stickers I realize you may think you need. I have actually skipped these in a previous kit, as they’re going on the bottoms of the feet. Like that kit, I suspect they’re there to cover hollow toes, which you’re not going to see unless you pick Gengar up and specifically look. All in all I’d say that’s optional, especially if you want to avoid stickers.

Dorothy will be bringing you a review of this kit on Gunpla TV soon, so if you’re interested in learning more, be sure to check that out when it goes live!

If any kits in this post are backordered when you read this, don’t worry — Bandai is great about restocking periodically. But, you’ll want to get your order in to secure a spot in line for the next restock!

Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.
