PG 1/60 RX-178 Gundam Mk. II “Titans”

This was my first Perfect Grade model kit and took me a couple of months to complete.  I fell in love with all the details that were molded into the inner frame and just couldn’t stand the unpainted look of it.  So i decided to fully paint the frame and leave no detail on the frame unpainted!  A majority of the frame was sprayed in a dull silver and a metallic black, while all the small details were hand painted with tamiya paints.

I originally was gonna display it as the inner frame by itself, but after looking at it for a couple of seconds it looked kind of boring to me.  So I decided to do something about it and came up with the idea of having the outer armor float away from the frame.  I achieved this effect using various size clear plastic rods.  Almost every piece of armor was one or two rods connecting it to the frame.  Just for the fun of it, I also used all the mini figures the kit came with, two of them are attached to wires and are seen floating around the PG kit.

I enjoyed working on this Perfect Grade and is one of my favorites pieces of work I completed.

I have GP01 and i just love the detail that is on the U.C kits. Pity Bandai has gone away from U.C in the PG line of model kits.

  6. Great work Strike. Caught this on GE awhile back and your Youtube channel. Definitly work a spot light here. The idea to have to armour floating worked perfectly really showing off all the attention to detail you threw in! Niceeeeeee
