Hiyo, have you tried just using tamiya X22 and tinting it with X1?
I guess you are going for a “titanium” look? A good alternative would be to use a gloss aluminum or silver leaf, tint it ’cause you want it much darker. Use dark mica blue on top, and finish with topcoat. It will be a really deep rich blue, almost black, but still have the shimmer…[Read more]

Thank you! I don’t know, I find myself doing it all my gundam kits. I prefer longer limbs. This one stands about 10mm taller than normal, and the arms are about 6mm longer.
i actually also prefer longer limbs, i like the way they change the proportions, very nice job 🙂 especially love the silver, i envy ur paint skills, i don’t even wanna tell u wut my sinanju’s gold looks like as a result of my trying to do the same >>
I am flattered, thank you! It’s all trial and error my friend. I always have some scrap kits to test on first, you can find them for cheap on auction sites.
For sure, the amount of kits I destroyed just trying things… well… it really is down to the experience. For the most part, I don’t think there is ever a right and wrong to technics.
Here’s my current build, the main suit itself is pretty much done. Still waiting on the restock of TS39 to come in, then I can finish the backpack. So far it has been a really fun build!
