I’m amazed as well! Quick dabs should work really well for touch-ups, even if you use lacquer paints. This is judging by how thin such paint tends to dry. Tamiya acrylics are the same deal.
I had not noticed it before you pointed it out but that’s where the black got rubbed off the oarnge putting the vents back in,thinking about taking my tamiya cotton swabs and the paint to touch it up,those vents are never coming back off I barely got them on as is.
Thanks guys! Can’t wait to do some more with my airbrush. And I’ve actually done that one ace lol, honestly kinda of want to kitbash the gm chest with gundam parts to make a custom ground gundam but I probably won’t because I’d have to buy three kits to do what I want too.
That really does improve the look by leaps and bounds, if I don’t decide on doing a visor setup I can so use that idea? I figure I’ll ask as I don’t want to take away from the spirit if the group build.
Nope definitely not the only one, it very we’ll reminds me of them too. Really loving the extra detail on the horn and visor two,I’m assuming you had to mask the visor part off?
Thanks, man. And nope, I painted the visor freehand with a size 0 round brush, then touched up the edges where the green touches. I find that applying the touch-up paint in quick dabs instead of small strokes is way easier.

Hopefully they get to it soon. It’s a lot easier for me to be lazy on the forums. I can always come back to a post and reply later, where on here I might just lose the post to the ever expanding wall of posts.
That’s what I don’t like about this place. It’s a massive pain to find old threads. The multitude of pictures in particular can bury a thread pretty quickly.
I’m more concerned with nub removal. I’ve never used sandpaper or files to remove gate remains before, and although the results appear to be cleaner than my previous method, I feel that it is more prone to failure.
I’ve always used a good old hobby knife to remove nubs, and I count the bad slices on cuts on one hand. I wrap the four fingers on my dominant hand around the blade and then use them to pull the blade towards the same hand’s thumb, while holding the part with my off hand. This gives me much more control over the final product than sanding does,…[Read more]
^should be: ” . . . I can count the number of bad cuts on one hand.” This is out of over 80 fully assembled kits (most of which are Master Grades with hundreds, if not thousands, of opportunities to screw up per kit).
Which is a shame. I still have yet to find an acrylic metallic that can be wet brushed to a good finish. Maybe Citadel stuff is the only option, haha. All of the vids show them looking really good even with wet brushing.
So it was you, huh? You caused this disaster!
Haha, I jest. Really wish they’d tell us what’s causing the crashing. I think by now we deserve to know.

Never thought about that. That’s a good guess and I don’t mind at all if it was the reason.
