Almost done, just gotta cut up some shiny green stickers for the front and back camera.
borrowed markings from a bunch of kits (RE/100 Dijeh, RE/100 Gerbera, RE/100 MK-III, MG…
Panel lining done, went with brown for the blue parts, black for the vents on the face, and grey for all the rest.
Now just to rummage through all my leftover decals and see which ones to apply (Imo, it could use a few more than are included)
Final Submission done.
I wanted to make a comment on the color bits around my kit. I painted the kit fuel drums on bright colors to represent those were civilian drums they…
Thanks! Really happy with the way it turned out.
Being a 1/72 kit it is rather small (hull is about 95mm long) and I wouldn’t be able to put the level of detail on it for me to be confident for the advanced category. I would definitely consider trying doing diorama, or maybe a 1/35 kit next time, although I have never done one.
Most folks go with black or gray. I would recommend using brown only at the feet, maybe ankles, because that’s where most [brown] dirt will build up in real life.
After having gone through the rules again, I realized that P-Bandais were a no-go. So instead of the Powered GM, the GM Kai it is.
Time to try out this brown Gundam marker
Weathering done. I applied a dark wash, followed by some chipping and painted some remaining details. Then I sealed everything with a matte varnish and finished it with some metallic dry-brushing.
The key lime green color wasn’t really working well with the blue so I completely stripped and repainted these parts with a cooler blue-green color instead. I had to re-mask and re-paint all of the details too. In this photo you can see the two gaps I drilled into the front codpiece. I have some option parts to insert there.
Details painted and everything coated with and acrylic gloss varnish.
After it had dried I carried on by placing a healthy amount of decals, next step is weathering!
Base color applied. Sadly I forgot to take photos of the pre-shading which was done after the primer, you can see its effect on the subtle differences on the tone of the color. Looking good!
Done with the assembly of the kit. I want it to tell a story, I am going with the setup of “A T-90A on Syria”. As you know on the ongoing (and awful) conflict on Syria, alm…
I have attached an extra machinegun on a welded support, made a big spaced armor plate covering the side armor not protected by ERA, placed some slat armor protecting the back of the turret and got a few track links and logs to work as extra armor. I was extra careful that none of the this modifications hindered any of the huge amount of sensors…[Read more]
