@syd I am wondering what time are you planning to do the Live Stream build of the RG Sinanju? I always miss live streams because I am in North America and it is just a weird time for me. View
Question for this community:
Does anyone know a good way of keeping decals on the kit without using “Top Coat” or “Paint”? Currently, I am using a bit of sticky glue to keep those buggers on and it seems to be working.
I often use RG decals, they stay on pretty well, they just need to be applied on a relatively flat and clean surface. Glue works fine but the places around the decals often have excess glue that need sanding.
Mr Mark Setter is used to make sure that decals stick on. However, if ur decals won’t stick because of a not flat surface it’s highly recommended that u use mr mark softer/tamiya mark fit as it helps decals melts so that it can conform to the surface it’s sticked on. I’ve personally never heard of issue with decals that won’t stick to flat…[Read more]
Mr Mark Softer & Setter are actually quite common u should be able to find them pretty much easy in most hobby shop. I’ve never tried Tamiya Mark Fit but it should do the job well.
One more thing I forgot to mention, you might have a lot issues posing this guy when you are doing your photo shoots. You have to be “creative” and find “innovative” way around pose this guy. I leave it to your imagination. ;P.
Sorry for the late reply as I was busy working out at the gym. My ReZEL is done for the most part. I just need to to some touch up work on it since some of the decal are peeling off. I am actually catching up on building some new kits which came in from HLJ.
Actually you can find this problem on any kits if you look hard enough, but it’s more common with large solid pieces with little surface sculpting, huge rounded pieces or older kits. This is due to injection technology, placement of the part on the runners, and/or the size of the gates.
I actually have this kit and ran into the same problem as Tatsuo.
I have built this kit before and here are some problems I encountered:
1: The connection from the waist to the hip is not as firm as the other RG kits.
2: Like Seanzilla said, be careful of the gold plated parts, but also the glossy red parts too. You will see when you do the arms.
3: The slot connection for the backpack to the body it is not a…[Read more]
For eligibility, the competition states “The first photo posted should be of the model kit box you intend to build.” This is done so the judges can confirm, what kit you are building and is the available for purchase. This is why they also have at least 4 work in progress photo, as a reference to check if you are not cheating. If anything, the…[Read more]
The base kit needs to be available on HLJ for purchase.
Since the listed kits are originally a “P-Bandai” they will be considered illegal because they are not available at HLJ. However, it is not against the rules to alter another kit to resemble a P-Bandai. For example, HG IBO Iok’s Reginlaze is just a recolor of HG IBO Julieta’s Reginlaze. You…[Read more]
I think I can grasp a bit of Mangy’s frustration/confusion. The root of this problem is not the scratch building or using an HLJ kit, etc, but the use of poor diction to describe the “mentioned” judging criteria. The term “completely” was probably implied as 100% of the kit is built from non preexisting parts (i.e. literally building it from the…[Read more]
You are the only one who has hit the nail right on the head. You’re exactly right. You understand my frustration and confusion considering I was already thinking of what I would be modeling and painting. It is absolutely semantics but it’s also about being both contradicting and inconsistent within their own rules.

I had the same issue with this kit. I painted over it, but cheap and effective way is to use a touch up marker and top coat it. You should get a good result.
Looks great man. Here is some thing I found out. The slots in the middle the option boosters can work with part D2 25 from the Graze kit. On the Graze, this part to connect with the two ground type thruster. It is a super tight fit, but it will give you a place to put all the spare parts.
