Myself (no trouble with power outages though) use an automotive compressor. It has a huge tank (in comparison with airbrush/hobby compressors), which once full lets me paint for 1 to 2 hours, depending on the pressure I’m working with. Those may not do. Furniture is mostly wood, leather, steel and/or fabric.
There are acrylic, enamel and lacquer based primers. From all those, acrylic is the most weak. Some of these might also bring some trouble in application.
Lacquer based is the strongest.

If the parts are primed, thinning agents won’t effect the plastic. Except for cellulose thinner. That stuff eats trough everything!
Gundam Markers contain Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol). The same as used for the solvent in Mr Hobby Aqueous and Tamiya Acrylic paints.

I second the Red Frame, my first fully painted Gunpla.
The details on the frame of the Strike are pretty much the same. They have great inner detail, like pistons and such.
If you like that kind of stuff, the older kits are full with that. The MK II and the GP01 even have hatches that can be opened.

Yeah, but you guys don’t have to pay Merkel, we here in Holland need to pay the Royals, and since they have an expensive taste and a big family… Everything above €25 gets 21% tax on top of the purchase and chipping price!!!!
In some countries, like Germany for example, hobby product and or toys are free from taxes, talk about one big Europe eh…. sigh
