So finally thinking about taking the dive into painting my kits. Just going to do simple bits first to get the hang of things. BUT FIRST I have a few questions.
1. do I have to use primer if I am only going to be painting small areas? such as pipes or gears etc
2. looking at finishing off with a matte top coat to take away the shine any recommendations?

Im shopping about within the UK, Ideally getting model kits from Japan but anyone know any good UK websites for painting supples instead of having to wait for it to come from Japan?

Any other info will be greatly appreciated.
