For my first update, I am starting off with a little cleaning of the parts and a battle plan. Cleaning, boring, battle plan, pretty fun. I’ve done an Astray before, and I’m using this competition to hone my panel lining and painting, because there’s a TON of panel lines on this model. I’ll also be painting in the details to get it to as close to…[Read more]
I just recently finished an HG Blue Frame, and I have to agree with you on the level of annoyance when you try to paint those small parts. It’s tough to mask them properly. I skip a few places (lazy me 😀 ). Those foil stickers do help with the eyes, camera sensors on the head, and the green spot on the stomach. Panel lining is going to be a pain.…[Read more]
Hi guys! I also experienced this kind of issues on painting the small parts. Yeah, not all of us was given the steady hands to paint. But I’ll you something that works for me and could also help you. I recently been drawn to building SD kits and as much as possible I use less of the stickers that come with it. Whenever I paint some small parts I…[Read more]
That’s what I do too. I’ve also learned that if you mask the piece, you can care less on being steady as the leftover will just stick to the tape. Remove the tape, then you’re good to go. Maybe use that toothpick trick here and there.

I’ll be doing the Green Frame.…[Read more]

With the eyes I agree the reason with the sticker because it gives it a shinny look, however painting it is very good to improve you skills 🙂
I take that back, I painted the eyes, but I use the stickers for the other parts. LOL I got shaky hands, those small parts are a pain for me. 🙁
