Got the decals set, I wish I had more than what came with the kit :/ Then got the first layer of top coat on. I’m going to be cutting this one very close. I totally forgot to take the time zone difference into consideration, so I have a day less than I planned!
WIP MG Turn A Gundam. Finished panel lining… FINALLY. Then I did some hand painting, mainly on the warheads. I really have to bust my tail on this and get going. I am so far from being done still. I hope everybody’s builds are going well!
And here USB the material I found, a screen cleaner. Once I cut it into the rough shape I needed I cut into it and glued it to make a solid “hook” in the material. Then I used a blunted chisel blade to rough up the end. Next I’m going to dirty it up with some ink and hopefully not ruin it.
Been a bit since I’ve posted an update cause I’ve been struggling with how to do the cape to make it look right so ignore the placeholder I have on it now cause I found a perfect material to use. I’ve added a small drop of clear nail paint on the red eye to try and make it stand out more and done a tiny bit more weathering.
Now for what I think if the last major part modification. The cockpit, I cut the cockpit part off of the torso armour and shaved down the cockpit a LOT and then covered it with grey plate. Once this sets I have a bunch of reshaping to do and two panel lines to add.
I was getting fatigued from staring at the broken head for forever so I tackled some of the battle damage and the clear condenser, painted the clear part green and cut out a foil circle to stick behind it
Apologies for the poop quality photos my phone doesn’t seem to like my work area. I messed up while trying to cut my head part to fit but it may have been for the better as now I can make the face and the added head parts seperate so I can paint the eyes easier.
For ages I struggled with what to use for the eye/head part combined with my fear of messing up and wasting the part when I stumbled upon a hip armour piece for the exia R2 that’s almost perfect, and there’s two of them so I have room for error. Still got a lot of work to do on the piece though
More damage to the head and the stripped down knee, since I don’t want to do much painting I used a thick plate from one of the runners to fashion the knee and cut out the circle piece from the back of the spare torso back that came in the kit. Once they set I have a tiny bit more shaping to do.
