Painting tests day 3. I’m loving this gun metal paint. My iPhone photos can’t do it justice. I’m liking the contrast it has with the semi-glossy armor panels. It will pop out even more once i move to flat finishing on those armor pieces.

One drawback is that the knee joint of the 00 has so much surface friction due to the large ring hinges. It’s scraping off the paint. I’ll need to disassemble and sand off those surfaces to make room for the paint.

Otherwise I’ll need to disassemble whenever I’m going to pose it off.

  Hehe I never liked flat finish on metal. I usually tend to leave it as it is, without any clearcoat.

  Well the flat will be for the armor panels. The metal frame will remain stock metal finish.

  What brand of Gunmetal paint are you liking? I’ve used Tamiya a lot in the past, and it’s great, but I’ve recently switched to Vallejo Model Air.
