Finally finished! Made a make shift photo studio using 2 iPads from my kids. HDR is kinda tricky with its color correction. Are we allowed to tweak the color using iOS apps? These shots are not sent to syd yet.

‘The only restriction on modification is that no photos can be touched up in order to alter the appearance of any enhancements, or imperfections of the kit.’ from that I’d assume no, personally

quick update of general proportions/look of Gundam Nebula (may change name, dunno yet). Cut and extended the yellow section of torso, modded the stomach for movement and added height though I still need to fill that in and shape it. Rough plan for the arms so I can do them up quick and p much finished the leg just need to mirror it for the other. I also modded the head by removing the old Mohawk-thing, angling the ear flap sections backwards and merging the portent\'s v fin in

oh and a question- do you think I should jump up to advanced category? I chose intermediate not realising the kit would need some of the advanced stuff I’ve had to do mods wise and can’t help but feel it doesn’t fit into intermediate anymore

help me please! Did somebody knows, where you have to apply that stickers?

from what I can see online they’re ‘put these wherever if you want to use them’ optional stickers

  • Finished up the putty work on merging the star winning’s SD for shin to its real mode shin. I wouldn’t call it good sculpting that got the result, more me just slapping it on and sanding it to shape. And since the ankle armour is immobile I really needed to go out of my way for movement, and am using a quadruple joint for forwards and backwards, and the polycap twisting for foot rotation and ankle tilt.

I\'m just asking :P not trying to cause any trouble... {hope no one tries to kill me for asking this :P} View

The category guidelines are a little vague but the rules say that the judges can move an entry into a different category if they feel it was in the wrong one, so it doesn’t matter that much in the end if some people are posting in the wrong group.

  • The benefits of an SD grade kit is it’s really quick to snap together and see what needs changing, the drawback is that it’s a lot to change. Messed around with the shoulder armour and changed the position from the original, and decided to cut off the fins shortly after taking the picture.
Also scrapped the old pelvis and redressed one from an old hguc RX-78-2 junker I had with the star winning’s skirts. Didn’t like the sides though so I’m using the boosters from the EZ arms set on a sliding post so they can extend and swivel for directional thrusters. Obviously this pelvis doesn’t connect to SD type joints, so I put a length of sprue through it as a bar for some hguc ZZ shoulders (thank you tryon 3 spares), much easier than sitting and sanding the ball joints of this new pelvis…

  • My Star Winning arrived today for the competition, planning on scrapping the SD mode, replacing the elbows, pelvis/hips and knees (with some kotobukiya joint parts and leftover scraps from other kits), and merging the two legs so I can have the SD ankle armour on the real mode’s legs. Then the whole thing is going to be painted, with the white as a galaxy. With almost two months and 3 weeks left, I’m confident I have the time
